The stock market surged Tuesday, receiving a double booster. The Chinese central bank has moved to loosen monetary policy, while fears around the Omicron Covid-19 variant are easing. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 492 points, or 1.4%, building on Monday’s 646-point rally. The S&P 500 gained 2.1%, while the technology-stock-heavy Nasdaq Composite surged 3%.
